Cambridge 50th
Anniversary Logo
This is a partner project I completed with Haley LeDrew for the City of Cambridge’s 50th anniversary. To start, Haley and I researched Cambridge’s history and other anniversary logos. From there, we brainstormed and sketched out a number of logo ideas while providing feedback to each other. We moved forward with this concept that I conceptualized and illustrated. This logo is a more modern and abstract approach to the identifier; it embodies the idea of the three municipalities coming together to create the city of Cambridge. The three shapes flowing around the number ‘50’ symbolize Galt, Preston, and Hespeler. They flow around the figure, inspired by the Grand River which runs through the city. Additionally, the two numbers in the center are joined together displaying the connection between the three cities and the whole community.
