A BIT ABOUT ME

My name is Allison Langis. I’m a student Registered Graphic Designer (RGD) currently in my second year of the Graphic Design program at Conestoga college. There are so many techniques and skills in this program that I am learning and adding to my toolbelt such as Adobe software, brand design, and typography. I have recently done some volunteer design work for the organization Cerebral Palsy Kids and Families (CP Kids and Families) through an event called Creative Day 4 Social Good (CD4SG). I worked with a team of students to design marketing materials for CP Kids and Families 70th anniversary. My team and I worked under strict timelines to design materials like brochures and icons within twenty-four hours. I think graphic design can save the world from being a boring place. There are endless opportunities to be creative and communicate meaningful messages with design. The main reason that I chose to be a visual communicator is that I hope to inspire creativity and show people joy and kindness through my work. One of my goals in graphic design is to provoke emotion from people viewing my work whether it’s positive or negative. I am looking to obtain a graphic design internship to gain some more real-life experience in the design field and to help me achieve my goals to make the world a better place for everyone with graphic design.
