Calendar Group Project: Mobile, Team, and Technology

In my typography  class I was given the group project ‘Calendar’ with my group members Auzee Shahbi, Jordie Neumann, Isaac Runstedler, and Alexandra Eirksen. The objective of this project is to work as a team to explore typography through the design and development of a 12-month digital wallpaper calendar while following a prescribed design process. For each month we were given a single “word” composition . The “word” composition must express the meaning of the word through font choice, typographic arrangement and/or use of materials. The meaning can be literal or play on the word out of context. The project was a group  assignment that lasted seven weeks. I was given the words Mobile ( April), Team (May), and Technology (June). I  created the compositions in illustrator. As a group we descided to go with pastel colours with each set of words having its own set of specific colours. This project helped me to strengthen my teamwork skills.  We created weekly deadlines to have different pieces finished to have ample time for feedback from our professor. Overall, I was able to create a calendar that all compositions worked well with each other and each word composition respresented its meaning well.
