Beer Branding : Tri City Misanthrope Brewing Company

In my packaging and Design Srudio class I was given the project ‘Beer Branding’ where I had the task to create my own beer brand. We were given the name ‘Misanthrope Brewing Company’ and given the task to rebrand the brewing company and create their primary product offerings. The project was an individual assignment that lasted seven weeks. For my rebrand I created the name Tri City as the main brand identifier and then created three separate flavours of beer that included Dark Lager, pale, and stout for the offering. Tri Cit was based off of the three towns Galt, Preston, and Hespeler that make up the City of Cambridge. The cans and logo were designed in illustrator. For the design of the corporate logo I crerated a wax stamp look to bring in the old feeling of Cambridge to the design. For the brand logo I used the City of Cambridge's typeface 'Cambridge' to stay on brand with the city. For the can design I used my own photography of each town and put each in black and white.  Then I used a single spot colour for each flavour offering. This project helped me to strengthen my time management skills. I created weekly deadlines to have different pieces finished to have ample time for feedback from my professor. Overall, I was able to create a simple and clean rebrand for the brewing company.
